The Representatives of TSMU Took Part in the IX Congress of Infection Disease Doctors of Ukraine

On October 7-9 IX the Congress of Infection Disease Doctors of Ukraine took part in Ternopil. The representatives of this field discussed topical issues on “Infectious diseases: progress and problems in diagnostics, therapy and prevention” during it. The event was chaired by a well-known infectious diseases doctor, epidemiologist, Honored Scientist of Ukraine, Corresponding Member of NAMS of Ukraine, Head of the Department of Infectious Diseases and Epidemiology of Ternopil State Medical University Professor Mykhailo Andreichyn. Mykhailo Antonovych headed Ukrainian Association of Infection Disease Doctors for a long time.

In the opening address the congress chairman noted that 196 delegates from 24 regions of the country came to discuss urgent matters of the field. 1 Corresponding Member of NAMS of Ukraine, 21 professors and doctors of medical sciences, 63 associate professors, 47 PhD, 4 honored scientists of Ukraine, 4 honored doctors of Ukraine, 97 doctors of the highest category, 55 doctors with the first category were among them. He expressed gratitude to the guests from Uzbekistan: Vice-Rector for Research of Samarkand Medical Institute, Head of the Department of Pediatrics Associate Professor Botyr Yuldashev and the Chief of Education Office, the Head of the Department of Infectious Diseases Associate Professor Narhiza Yarmukhamedova.

The Director of the Department of Health Care of Ternopil Regional State Administration Volodymyr Bohaichuk also addressed to the conference participants.

The Vice-Rector for Science and Education Professor Arkadii Shulhai welcomed the participants on behalf of the Rector of TSMU, Professor Mykhailo Korda.
