TNMU ranks first among Ternopil region universities in the consolidated ranking of higher educational institutions

Recently, the educational resource “Osvita.ua” published a consolidated ranking of higher educational institutions of Ukraine for 2019. I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University ranks first among the higher educational establishments of Ternopil region and thirtieth among the 240 higher educational establishments of Ukraine, having improved its indicators in comparison with last year by 4 positions.

To compile the consolidated ranking of Ukrainian higher educational institutions, the most authoritative among the experts and the media ranking systems of Ukrainian educational institutions: “Top 200 Ukraine”, “Scopus” and “External independent testing score” have been used, each of which uses different evaluation criteria.
One of the parameters of the consolidated ranking is external independent testing score. The information system “Vstup.OSVITA.UA” compiled the rating of higher education institutions by the average score of applicants’ external independent testing , who in 2018 were enrolled in higher education at the contract form of study. Ternopil National Medical University ranked thirteenth by this indicator.
The average mark of external independent assessment certificates is calculated among all persons enrolled in the study at the contract form of study for the first year, for the degree of bachelor (master of medical, pharmaceutical or veterinary program) on the basis of complete general secondary education.
It should be noted that over the last five years Ternopil National Medical University has been constantly improving its performance in this ranking, climbing a few steps higher each year. For example, in 2015 TNMU ranked 54th.
