Art Therapy for Children by the TNMU Students
Student volunteers of the MISERICORDIA university movement organized a lesson of art therapy in foreign languages in the training and rehabilitation center. For many years, our students have been reading art therapy lessons and noticed the improvement of children’s emotional state.
Art therapy is healing with any kind of creative art. Recently, more and more attention is paid to this little-known direction in our country. The reason is for the “tenderness” and environmental friendliness of the treatment process.
The main idea of art therapy is to use art to distract from wicked thoughts, feelings, depression and cope with the disease. Because a person expresses themselves through various types of art, shares their soul, as well as part of the accumulated negativity.
For example, green has a strong anti-stress effect; purple tones promote concentration, significantly relieve mental stress; orange awakens the joy of life and fun; red has a warming, invigorating effect.
Children at the training and rehabilitation center together with student volunteers drew and sculpted, as well as learned English and Polish words.
The training and rehabilitation center has a small shop where children can get toys they like for their achievements, so student volunteers have filled the store with new toys once again.
Nadkevych Anastasia, Storoshchuk Diana and Struk Marta, the students of the Faculty of Medicine took part in the event.
