TNMU Delegation Participated in RECOOP HST Association Conferences
On April 20-21, 2023, the annual conferences of the RECOOP HST Association − 5th RECOOP International Student Conference, 18th RECOOP Bridges in Life Sciences Conference, and the 8th RECOOP Sciences and Arts Exhibition were held in Budapest (Hungary). The conferences were attended by teachers, young scientists and students of TNMU. Our university is a member of the Association for Regional Cooperation in the fields of Health, Science and Technology – RECOOP HST Association, headed by Dr. Sandor G. Vari (Director of International scientific and innovative programs of the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles, CA, USA), since 2019 and is a co-executor of 11 grants within the RECOOP HST Association.
Dr. Sandor Vari started the Bridges Conferences 20 years ago, and he organized the 18th for the RECOOP Scientists. In the last three years Dr. Sandor Vari worked hard to initiate, organize, and implement the RECOOP project at Ternopil and the results were presented at the 18th Bridges Conference.
TNMU delegates participated both offline and online. The team that attended the conference live included professors Oksana Shevchuk, Alla Boychuk, associate professors Kateryna Kozak, Solomiia Kramar, assistant Professors Yuliia Yakymchuk, Nataliya Oginska, and post-graduate students Tetiana Homeliuk, Viktoriia Ivankiv, Mariana Danchyshyn, Yuliia Pravak, Yuliia Bandrivska and students Anna Shkrobot and Anna-Maria Koval.
Rector of TNMU, Prof. Mykhaylo Korda joined the conference online, chairing the “Cardiovascular Diseases” section. Professors Sviatoslav Kostiv, Marian Hrebenyk, associate professor Sofia Maslii, assistant professor Boryslav Selskyi, student Sofiia Levchyk and post-graduate students Ilona Palii, Olesia Redko, Iryna Pidhaina and Anastasiia Pak.
The conference program was very interesting and intense, because during two days it was possible to get acquainted with the results of more than 90 scientific papers. The conference was attended by scientists from Croatia (Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek, University of Zagreb School of Medicine), the Czech Republic (Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry Czech Academy of Sciences), Hungary (Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Semmelweis University, University of Debrecen, University of Pecs, University of Szeged), Poland (Wroclaw University of Science and Technology), Romania (“Carol Davila” University of Medicine and Pharmacy), Slovakia (Comenius University, Slovak Medical University), United States of America (Cedars- Sinai Medical Center), as well as our colleagues from higher education and research institutions of Ukraine (Lviv Danylo Halytsky National Medical University, Institute of Cell Biology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, O.V. Palladin Institute of Biochemistry of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine) and a representative of the publishing house “Akademperiodyka” Iryna Tykhonkova.
Scientists of our university presented the results of the grants, which they are co-implementers of, in oral presentations in the following sections of the 18th RECOOP Bridges in Life Sciences Conference:

The scientific achievements of students and young scientists are highlighted in the sections of the 5th RECOOP International Student Conference:

- Reproductive Health (RPH) (Iryna Pidhaina, Yuliia Pravak)
All reports aroused the interest of the conference participants and became the subject of scientific discussion, which indicates the relevance of the chosen topics.
The participants of the conference had a chance to get acquainted with the work of young scientists Tetiana Homeliuk and Anastasiia Pak, who were interning at partner universities within the framework of the Cedars – RECOOP Solidarity Fellowship program.
On April 21, 2023, the meeting of the Assembly of the RECOOP HST Association “17th General Assembly Meeting” took place, at which TNMU was represented by a corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Honoured Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Mykhaylo Korda.
The active participation of TNMU scientists in the RECOOP HST Association conference made it possible to work on and discuss the results of their own research with colleagues from leading universities in Central and Eastern Europe, as well as to get support for further work by establishing scientific cooperation.
