Students of the Faculty of Pharmacy Received Scholarships from the Pharmaceutical Company Acino

As part of the cooperation between Ternopil National Medical University and the Acino Pharmaceutical Company, several joint activities were developed, including introducing a scholarship program from Acino to support talented students.

During the meeting of Acino LLC representative Iryna Lebid with students and academic staff of the Faculty of Pharmacy in July 2024, the terms of participation in the scholarship program were discussed in detail. In the first stage, the 4th and 5th-year students had to submit a resume, choose a topic from those offered by Acino representatives, and prepare a motivational essay to justify their choice. In total, 13 applications for participation in the competition were received from the Pharmaceutical Faculty students.

In the second stage, the applicants had written and submitted papers on the chosen topic. Based on the results of an individual interview by the Acino company representatives with all scholarship applicants, ten winners who will receive the scholarship for ten months have been selected.

Other areas of cooperation between TNMU and the Acino are:

– industrial practice in the relevant specializations by the 4th and 5th-year students on the Acino basis;

– excursions for students and academic staff to the “Farma Start” factory;

– lectures/workshops of the Acino Pharmaceutical Company specialists for academic staff and students;

– participation of university representatives in scientific developments of the Pharmaceutical Company Acino, cooperation with the R&D department;

– initiation of an educational program in the field of pharmacovigilance;

– opportunity for employees of the Pharmaceutical Company Acino to enter postgraduate studies for obtaining the scientific degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD);

– participation of the Acino representatives in the exam commission for the graduates’ attestation and assistance to the Faculty of Pharmacy students in the qualification works performance.

The administration of TNMU, the Faculty of Pharmacy, and the Acino company wish the scholarship program winners further success in their educational and scientific achievements. We hope the scholarship becomes an incentive for additional professional development.
