TNMU Ranked First Among Medical Universities in Ukraine in the SCImago Institutions Rankings
In the latest edition of the SCImago Institutions Rankings (SIR) for 2025, Ternopil National Medical University secured the first place among medical universities in Ukraine. It also ranked among Ukraine’s top ten higher education institutions (source).

This year, 61 Ukrainian universities were included in the SCImago Institutions Rankings for the first time. Spain’s SCImago Lab evaluated 10,000 scientific and educational institutions worldwide, including more than 5,000 universities.
About SCImago Institutions Rankings
The SCImago Institutions Rankings is a globally recognized evaluation system for academic and research institutions. Since 2009, it has assessed institutions based on three key criteria:
- Research performance (50%)
- Innovative developments (30%)
- Social impact (20%)
The ranking takes into account the following indicators:
Impact of scientific publications Level of international collaboration Open access to research Patent activity development Technological contributions and digital presence of the university
