In the summer of 2022, I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University became a partner of The University of Manchester’s Medical School through the initiative of Cormack Consultancy Group, supported by Universities UK International, the President of Ukraine’s Fund for Education, Science, and Sports, and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine (Twinning Ukraine).

The “TNMU-UoM English Speaking Club” was successfully launched as part of this twinning partnership. This initiative aims to enhance students’ language skills, foster international connections, and facilitate experience exchange among future medical professionals.
Club Organization and Participation
The project is organized by TNMU students Ivan Lutsyk, Olha Opleta, Ulyana Dyshko, and Oleksandr Mihenko, with the support of Professor Oksana Shevchuk, Head of the Department of Scientific Project Management at TNMU. On the University of Manchester’s side, the club is coordinated by Dr. Steven Thomson (PhD) and student coordinators Michael Perets, Jan Mielnichuk, and Alastair Paterson.
So far, the club has hosted two meetings attended by TNMU students from 1st to 6th year in Medicine, Dentistry, and Nursing, including paramedics and students from The University of Manchester’s Medical School.
