At the end of March 2025, the Department of General Chemistry at I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University hosted the first stage of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad in “Medical Chemistry” and “Biological and Bioorganic Chemistry.”

Seventeen first-year students from the medical and dental faculties participated in the “Medical Chemistry” Olympiad. The event was organized under the supervision of Associate Professor Hryhoriy Zahrychuk and Associate Professor Lesia Hnatyshyn. The participants completed test-based and creative tasks, which included solving chemical problems related to writing reaction equations and calculating multi-level chemical equations with practical applications in medicine.

Winners of the “Medical Chemistry” Olympiad:

1st place – Anastasiia Serdeha (MM-120)
2nd place – Valentyna Tumanova (MM-104)
2nd place – Diana Dmytryshyn (MM-107)

Fifteen second-year students from the medical and pharmaceutical faculties took part in the Olympiad on “Biological and Bioorganic Chemistry.” Associate Professor Hryhoriy Zahrychuk, Associate Professor Iryna Bekus, and Professor Petro Lykhatskyi organized the Olympiad. Participants were given two-level tasks designed to test their knowledge and ability to solve various non-standard problems related to bioorganic chemistry. The tasks included test-based and creative components, focusing on the structural correspondence of bioorganic compounds to metabolic transformations in the human body.

Winners of the “Biological and Bioorganic Chemistry” Olympiad:

1st place – Denys Dolhopolov (MM-202)
2nd place – Diana Anna Mudriievska (MM-202)
2nd place – Bohdan Yurchenko (MM-211)
