Pathophysiology Olympiad at TNMU
On March 13, 2025, the Department of Pathophysiology at I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University hosted the first stage of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad for the 2024/2025 academic year in Pathophysiology. A total of 21 third-year Medical Faculty students participated in the competition.
Professor Mariia Khara was the responsible coordinator for the first stage of the Olympiad. The event was organized with Associate Professors Ruslan Usynskyi and Olena Kulianda, as well as Assistants Oksana Balitska and Yevhen Loza. Professor Khara prepared the tasks, which consisted of two sections: a situational case with a theoretical question and a set of test tasks.
The Olympiad served not only as an assessment of students’ knowledge but also as an opportunity for them to demonstrate their intellectual potential. It emphasized the importance of an interdisciplinary approach to learning, highlighting how subjects like anatomy, histology, biochemistry, and normal physiology lay the foundation for deep scientific understanding and practical skills in the medical profession. The competition also played a crucial role in preparing students for their future professional careers.
