First Stage of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad in “Dentistry”

On April 1, 2025, the first stage of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad in “Dentistry” was held at the Faculty of Dentistry of Ternopil National Medical University. The Olympiad aimed to identify talented students, improve the quality of training qualified specialists, enhance educational activity, and encourage student learning.

The graduating departments of the Faculty of Dentistry organized the Olympiad. A jury was formed to conduct the first stage of the Olympiad, consisting of the following members:

Yurii Martyts – Associate Professor of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry

Olha Stakhanska – Chair of the jury, Associate Professor of the Department of Prosthodontics

Svitlana Boitsanyuk – Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry

Liudmyla Patskan – Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Associate Professor of the Department of Therapeutic Dentistry

Nadiia Manashchuk – Associate Professor of the Department of Therapeutic Dentistry

Marta Zalizniak – Associate Professor of the Department of Therapeutic Dentistry

Khrystyna Loza – Assistant of the Department of Surgical Dentistry

Fifth-year students of the Faculty of Dentistry participated in the first stage of the Olympiad. They completed written therapeutic, surgical, prosthetic, and pediatric dentistry assignments. These included solving clinical case scenarios related to patient assessment, making preliminary diagnoses based on objective examination data, interpreting additional diagnostic methods such as radiographs for dental conditions, and providing descriptions and indications for dental instruments and orthodontic appliances.

The jury evaluated all participants’ answers.

The winners of the Olympiad are:

1st place: Oleksandr Masliy (Group 501)

2nd place: Iryna Stremedlovska (Group 501), Anna Zakhutska (Group 504)

3rd place: Kateryna Chulyk (Group 504), Olha Hlushman (Group 507)

The winners were awarded certificates of achievement. All participants received certificates of appreciation and gifts from Med+3 DRUK (Loza K.H.) and the Department of Therapeutic Dentistry team.
