Students from Ternopil School No. 3 Explored Pharmaceutical Sciences at TNMU
The 7th grade students of Ternopil Specialized School No. 3 had a wonderful opportunity to visit the Faculty of Pharmacy at I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University. There, they learned many fascinating things about pharmaceutical science and medical practice.
At the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, under the guidance of Associate Professor Mariia Mykhalkiv, the students not only became familiar with theoretical aspects but also conducted real experiments. This hands-on experience sparked their curiosity and deepened their understanding of chemistry.
During their visit to the training pharmacy at the Department of Pharmacy Management and Economics with Drug Technology, the schoolchildren got to practice dispensing medications and took part in measuring blood pressure, blood glucose levels, and oxygen saturation. The practical session was led by Associate Professor Liliia Budniak and Assistant Anastasiia Dub, providing the students with an exciting experience in the field of medicine.
At the Department of Pharmacognosy with Medical Botany, the students attended a captivating lecture by Professor Svitlana Marchyshyn on the healing properties of plants. Associate Professor Ivanna Kernychna also introduced them to various herbariums and the microscopic structure of plants.
Special thanks to the Dean of the Faculty, Dmytro Korobko, and to all staff members for organizing such an engaging and educational tour. It not only broadened the students’ knowledge but also inspired them to pursue further studies in medicine and pharmacy!
