Ternopil School №29 Students Visited the Pharmaceutical Faculty of TNMU

The students of Ternopil Specialized Secondary School №29, accompanied by their class teacher, Halyna Dvorak, had a wonderful opportunity to visit the Pharmaceutical Faculty of I.Ya. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University. An engaging educational tour was organized for them. The aim of the event was to introduce students to the profession of a pharmacist, to showcase current directions in pharmaceutical science, and to promote medical, pharmaceutical, and biological knowledge among school youth.

The tour began with a welcoming speech by the Dean of the Pharmaceutical Faculty, Associate Professor Dmytro Korobko, who briefly shared the history of the faculty, the professional development prospects within the pharmaceutical field, and presented a planned route for visiting key departments.

The students then visited various training rooms where faculty members introduced them to modern equipment and conducted a number of fascinating demonstrations.

At the Department of Pharmacognosy and Botany, students attended an engaging lecture by the Head of the Department, Professor Svitlana Marchyshyn, about the healing properties of medicinal plants. They also had the opportunity to examine herbarium specimens and the microscopic structure of plant-based medicinal raw materials.

At the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, students learned about the theoretical foundations of chemical disciplines. Under the guidance of Associate Professors Mariia Mykhalkiv and Iryna Ivanusa, they participated in chemistry experiments that sparked their interest in the subject.

At the Department of Pharmacy Management and Economics with Drug Technology, students visited a model pharmacy where they became acquainted with the general principles of pharmacy operations as part of the healthcare system. Under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Nadiia Malanchuk, they practiced dispensing medications.

Students also found the practical demonstrations led by Associate Professor Anastasiia Dub particularly engaging. These included measuring blood pressure, blood glucose levels, and oxygen saturation, all conducted in the training room for medical and pharmaceutical merchandising.

The students actively participated in discussions and interacted with instructors to learn more about the specifics of pharmaceutical education and future employment opportunities in the field.

Sincere thanks are extended to the Dean, Dmytro Borysovych Korobko, and the entire faculty staff for organizing such an informative and inspiring event. It not only provided students with valuable knowledge but also contributed to building a positive image of the pharmaceutical profession.
