The MultiCultiMed project aims to enhance cultural awareness and intercultural competence among medical students and faculty to improve healthcare delivery for patients from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Multicultural education in medicine promotes better integration of various social groups and fosters understanding and acceptance of cultural diversity in patient care. The project will expand access to knowledge and develop awareness, competence, and sensitivity regarding multiculturalism among medical students. Additionally, a learning platform and a mobile application will be developed as a guide for educators in multicultural education.
The project’s primary outcome will be the development of an open-access, modern textbook on multiculturalism in medicine and health sciences, available as a free e-book on the educational platform. The textbook will be published in six languages, and an audiobook version will also be available in six languages.
The project runs from November 2024 to February 2027.
